Palm Sunday

Today is a Palm Sunday. It is the last Sunday before the Easter. It is also celebrated here in Finland its way. Finnish Easter traditions mix the religious customs with long awaited arrival of spring, which still takes its time :-). Witches are welcoming the Easter by going from the door to door by offering to bless your home in return for the treat, usually in form of Chocolate eggs or other sweats.

They use willow twigs and they decorate it with colorful fluffy things, artificial feather and so on. My daughter has made them herself and gave all of them. And she has got huge amount of sweats. We will make our own this week because we have also our own Czech customs. The picture is from the last year Easter Sunday.

Have a nice and meaningful Palm Sunday and beginning of the Holy week.
