Did you know that caffeine itself is a mild painkiller? It also increases the effectiveness of other pain killers. Caffeine is a stimulant to the central nervous system, and regular drinking causes mild dependence. I have tried many times to stop drinking coffee and I find out that I am suffering for worse headaches, and I am even more fatigue with difficulty to concentrate. All these I found on the internet as a result of abrupt stop drinking coffee, or other caffeine drinks. But it takes only few days to recover. There is no real addiction to the coffee as serious addictions such as drugs have. I have read that coffee is quickly processed by the body and gets quickly rid off it. But also I read that it takes about 10 hours to process most of the caffeine, which means that if you have sleeping problem as I do, your last cup of coffee should be really in the morning.
There is another problem you have to be concern. Caffeine increases rise in the heart rate and blood pressure. It was also said, that caffeine has a dehydrating effect, however the amount of fluid consumed in the coffee should compensate the amount of lost fluid. Among all kind of negative side effects I have found also positive things of drinking coffee, except increase of the concentration and energy. It might help to reduce a risk of Parkinson's disease, liver disease, or dementia. Which is great. Isn't it? But I think it is very difficult to say what is the correct amount of coffee. Just don't forget, that everything is personal. And it is up to you how you feel.
Right now, I feel in very small and tight circle. I wake up, well, I didn't sleep, so I get up and try to start to exist, which means that I need a coffee. I start to exist, but I need more coffee to be able to use my brain, or to move around, but in the evening I need my medication to be able to fall asleep and other to be able to sleep at least for few hours. Well, there are other problems, why I cannot fall asleep or to sleep, but getting rid of at least one thing would be great deal. I think it can increase quality of the sleep. But I am also mentally addicted to the coffee. I like it. When I want to sit and relax, I get immediately taste for a coffee. I have tried to replace it by juice or tea. There is no problem with that but I do not get similar feelings. It might be the problem that I really do not want to get rid of coffee. I had to give so many things, that this feels almost like if I give up this, nothing will remain. I tried to replace real coffee by decaffeinated coffee or some oat coffee-like drinks. But nothing seemed to work. Especially that I felt like a small girl again drinking hot chocolate or so.
But don't think that I drink just whatever coffee. I am quite picky. 👀😇 I like only coffee from one coffee shop in Helsinki. Luckily they are well spread. And I drink only filtered black dark roasted coffee at home.
What are you drinking? How do you relax?
Have a nice day!
