Finnish Sauna, unforgettable experience

As I said, Finnish Sauna is something like cultural experience only after which you can understand Finns. Unfortunately it doesn't apply to the language. Sorry :-). But probably you will understand how to be silent in Finnish :-). Just trying to be positive :-).

In the level of ordinary life, which means having sauna at home, it became part of my life, of normal hygiene. I am not saying we switch on our sauna every day. Right now it is rather occasional, because we do not have the right time, but you just feel more clean after sauna than just taking a shower. Also it slows you down. Also you take sauna before or after swimming in the swimming pool, sauna is in almost every work place. I used to go to sauna when I had trouble with my code and it always helped me to get more focused. I cannot imagine to have that in my home country.

Absolutely different experience is in the cottage, or anywhere by the lake or sea. Usually we travel far to north, from my point of view, to the cottage during Midsummer. You experience wooden sauna and swimming and extremely cold lake, but also you can experience no sunset at all. It feels so weird. It is midnight, everything is silent, but the light is like in the afternoon. Just normal day time. You do not feel tired, but you feel you should be sleeping but also you cannot stop sense the moment.

Aprox,. the view from the sauna. Just peace :-)

As I already wrote in previous article, sauna doesn't work for me very well. My dear friend called it "sauna hangover". And I have to say that it perfectly fits to what happens after sauna during night and the next day. But also you cannot help not to go there because in such cottage it means hygiene. you have to wash your self and in such icy cold lake you cannot survive without proper heating. So from what ever point you have to take sauna at least every second day. Minimally. I know it is a cottage, but I am really urban type of person. I cannot go to bed without shower, I cannot survive without cleaning my teeth, changing clothes all the time.

I have been writing this for several days, so I hope it still makes sense. I am really tired right now, but I wanted to finish this.

Have a nice day!!
