Lupus and Celebrities

Lupus and Celebrities could be quite funny topic. Or at least that was my point in the beginning, after which I realizes that disease will be still the same disease. It clearly shows that such things doesn't choose. Ok, certain disease has certain predisposition, but not whether you are so called ordinary or kind of popular.

The first name I remembered is Selena Gomez. She is a pop singer. But that is not why I know her. I actually know her because of Lupus and articles about it. She had recently kidney transplant due to the disease. She looks very strong and quite clear. I think that even she is still so young the disease forced her to grow up and clarify her view on her life. Some people would never get so far as she did.

Second person I got in mind is Lady Gaga. However what I understood that the diagnose was changed for the Fibromyalgia.

Note: Fibromyalgia is a disorder that affects the muscles and soft tissue and causes fatigue, mood issues, sleep problems. There is no cure, but medication can relief the symptoms and pain. Sounds familiar, isn't it? I will come back to that topic.

Ok, who is next? I have to say, I got completely lost and I needed to google it. Is there anyone else?

Nick Cannon is a name which came out from google. I have no idea who is he. He is supposed to be rapper and actor. Well, ok. His kidney almost failed due to lupus. First he is a man and lupus is rather statistically female problem.  Second disease doesn't choose.

Another surprising name was Michael Jackson. He was diagnosed in 1986. Because he was UV sensitive he was using hats, masks, and sunglasses. Well, I will believe that. I have never been his fan.

From politician I found president Ferdinand Marcos. He had Lupus which led to kidney failure and had kidney transplant. However he died in 1989 due lung and kidney failure.

 Do you know anyone else?
Have a nice Easter :-)
